Brooklyn's Birthday Party

Well...Brooklyn's 1st birthday party was today, you know what that means...Makayla's will be here VERY shortly! Wow, where the heck has the past year gone? I remember this time last year sitting around, very large, and waiting for my little monkey to arrive!

Here are some pictures from Brooklyn's party, Makayla was right in there "helping" Nicky unwrap all the presents. She was even more interested in it than Brooklyn was :)

My friend Barb came over today for a visit and brought her new baby Zachery for us to see! Makayla seemed to enjoy kneeling infront of his carseat, "talking" and rocking him back and forth. Maybe she was trying to tell Mommy something.....

What Have We Been Doing?

Wow, it has been a few weeks since I've updated! We have been staying busy; out and about in the city and Clint was home for a week too, so that was nice! It is hard to believe that the summer is already half over....that means the time for me to go back to work is soon approaching. I have been spending some more time looking for a dayhome; it doesn't seem to be proving easy so far. So what's new and what have we been doing......

We spent some time with Nicky and Brooklyn in between their vacations (BC & Australia)!




We have spent some time at the beach!





Then Clint was home for his one week off a month, so we decided to take our first family holiday! We went to Canmore for 4 nights! It was a great trip!













The day after we got home from Canmore we went to Capital Ex, the annual exhibition here (same as what we just went to in Calgary with Auntie Cindy - Stampede). That was fun!

So, basically Makayla and I have been keeping busy, trying to pass time while Clint is away, but also trying not to let her grow too quickly! Makayla has been working on crawling, which for her really means getting up on her knees, then face planting, trying again and sliding backwards. Just within the last few days she has figured out that if she sits up and pushes with her hands she can turn around, so she has been doing lots of "circles". Also, just two days ago she figured out that if she gets up on her knees then pushes backwards she can actually sit up; she is so proud, as is Mommy!

Graffiti is still a go, I just need to get somemore parties booked; I have one for later in August and a trade show in September, also a few people who want to book for September!

Happy Early Birthday To Me

My birthday is on Monday, but last night my friend Mandy took me to Jubilations to see Greased. It was a really great show based on the musical Grease! When ever it is your birthday they stick a sparkler in your dessert and ask you up on stage to announce your name and how old you are and to do this stupid dance; I have done this before and I don't like it! Anyway, Mandy asked our waitress if she could get the seagull (the mascot for the show) to come over and sing to me...I told our waitress that I was NOT going on stage, she said that was fine. Then another waiter came over and asked to see my ID, this happened to me two years ago and when I handed it over they said I wasn't getting it back until after I went on stage and danced, so I wouldn't hand it over this time. He said that I could either go on stage and dance or he would cause me "a world of embarrassment" over at our table. I chose to not go on stage! About 5 minutes later I saw the seagull walking over to our table...oh great, well he starts squawking like a bird and yelling "can I get your attention over here", then he proceeds to say that I am to shy and won't go on stage, that it's my birthday and everyone should sing to me...keep in mind there is something like 500 people now staring at me! They all sang! Oh, and the lovely waiter who said he would cause me a world of embarrassment was going on and on about how I had a nasty rash that won't go away, that it is so red and oozing puss, and that it smells....I guess he followed through with his threat! I learnt my lesson; next time I dance!

Today we went to a friends 1st birthday party! It was a wonderful time, with beautiful weather and great friends!

First Trip To The Zoo

Clint is home and my friend Mandy is up here visiting from Phoenix so we decided to take the girls to the zoo! It was Makayla's first trip to the zoo today, I actually forgot my camera at home, but luckily I had my phone to take a picture of the little monkey we found there!


Makayla didn't really take much notice of the animals, basically only the ones that she could see (that came up close to us), such as the monkeys who came up to the glass or the elephant who was actually outside taking a bath. Other than that she didn't really care....oh well, we still had fun!

One of my girlfriends from Phoenix is down here visiting for three weeks and staying at her parents house, so we made our way over for a visit!

Makayla has a jumperoo which is a stationary jumper, today she enjoyed her first time in a real jolly jumper, and she LOVED it!! At first she wasn't so sure of what to do, but it literally took her a minute to figure it out and then she was jumping for close to an hour!

Happy 30th Birthday Daddy!!

Happy Birthday Babe!! You are officially an "old man", the way you put it!

So our party down at the lake and an outdoor BBQ didn't happen; the weather just wouldn't cooperate and we live in a 1000sq ft condo so there is no way that we could have moved 30 people inside. We had a offer from a friend to use his house for the party (thank god for good friends) and I think a great time was had by all!

Not only is this a special birthday for Clint as it's his 30th, but it is also his first birthday with his baby girl!
